Liv Pedersen<\/mark><\/strong> (*1986) is a freelance artist from Hamburg. Her work is characterised by an exploration of her repertoire of forms. Using a wide variety of materials and spatial situations she creates herself, Liv Pedersen continually approaches her formal language in new ways and transforms it. Observing how the materials interact with one another and with the space forms part of her artistic exploration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She carries out this exploration through a cross-media process taking the form of assemblages, objects, drawings and sound. In her delicate arrangements, she focuses on the details, bringing the inconspicuous to the fore. Among other things, she works with leftovers, discarded items and found objects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Modelling clay, concrete screed, wire and plant parts \u2013 her choice of material is guided by a curiosity to explore its potential. To examine its limits, possibilities and hidden capabilities and to use it to find new ways of realising her own artistic repertoire. The varying material characteristics influence the artist\u2019s formal and visual language, constantly transforming it. Individual elements from the working process reappear in the exhibition context as temporary, arranged works, or are reworked in the form of noise tracks and artist\u2019s books. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liv Pedersen responds to her surroundings by observing them closely and identifying new narrative approaches within materials. Through their deliberate placement and treatment within the context of her work, she transforms their appearance. Through a playful approach, the artist develops a visual language that moves between materiality, organic forms and drawing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
